http://jsass.kuis.edu.my/index.php/jsass/article/view/263

Muhammad Hakim KamalMohamad Hussin

The use of appropriate teaching techniques and methods in education can produce excellent students in various skills. The third language learning system or the Arabic language in particular requires appropriate emphasis in parallel with the development of the fourth industrial revolution. This study discusses the use of teaching aids based on multimedia elements to improve the quality and effectiveness of teaching and learning (PdP). Therefore, this project is focused on designing a mobile application for learning Arabic grammar called "Al-Musytaq". The application development process is based on the ADDIE model as a workflow guide. The findings of the study show the production of projects that have been built and the results of the development are evaluated through quantitative studies. A questionnaire was used as a research instrument through Google Form and the data obtained through 20 respondents from Arabic language students in the 4th and 5th grade of religious secondary schools around Negeri Sembilan were analysed. This application provides facilities for students to strengthen the learning of Arabic grammar without the help of a teacher. It is also a teaching aid for elementary school Arabic teachers.

MOHAMMAD AMIRUL ASHRAF BIN MOHD YUSMANMuhammad Firdaus Abdul Manaf

The administrative decision shall come into effect on the date of signature of the decision by its issuer, the entry into force of the resolution and its validity to individuals shall be from the date of notification of the decision. The study is entitled "Effectiveness of the Administrative Decision", which aims at the position of the UAE legislator and its comparison with the position of the Egyptian legislator towards the implementation of the administrative decision, where there are ways and means to enforce the administrative decisions and an important role played by the judiciary in implementing these decisions. The problem of studying is that the administrative decision requires that the necessary steps be taken to put it into effect. The time is determined for implementation. It determines the stages of implementing the administrative decision and the individuals who will implement it. Hence, it is necessary to determine the responsibility of each individual and the ways and means to implement the decision. Preventive measures to prevent any administrative deviations in the implementation of the administrative decision. The researcher used the comparative analytical approach to study and analyze the legal and jurisprudence texts and provide some judicial rulings related to the subject of the study to highlight the legal trends and comparative jurisprudence on the implementation of the administrative decision in the UAE and Egyptian legal systems.
Abdullah Ateeq Juma ALMHEIRI

2023-11-302023-11-301025292Teachers’ Perceptions And Challenges On Dual Language Programme (DLP) In Meradong District
http://jsass.kuis.edu.my/index.php/jsass/article/view/271

Dual Language Programme (DLP) was introduced in order to improve the level of English proficiency among students. This has become a vital topic since the Ministry of Education (MOE) was requested to review the implementation of DLP as the teachers and students face challenges in teaching and learning of Science and Mathematics in English. The implementation of Dual-Language Programmes (DLP) in the teaching and learning of Science and Mathematics is an initiative under the ‘Upholding the Malay Language and Strengthening the English Language’ (MBMMBI) policy. Though it has some similarities with the previous policy known as ‘English for the Teaching of Science and Mathematics’ (PPSMI), its execution is idiosyncratic in its own way. Since its inception in 2016, the programme has entered its third cycle involving students in primary and secondary schools in Malaysia. Thus, this study aims to identify the teachers’ perceptions on DLP and the challenges they faced after the implementation. Gleaning through teacher’ language capabilities, attitudes, teaching support and acceptance of the programme, this study uses a questionnaire with open-ended questions to unravel the aforementioned issues. A total of 67 DLP teachers from different schools in Meradong district participated as the respondents of this study. The finding shows that most of the teachers have their own insights towards the implementation of DLP as well as the different challenges that they faced and is currently facing as they implemented DLP during their teaching and learning process in the classroom. Even though certain school are keen to teach both Science and Mathematics through DLP, nevertheless, pupils’ lack of proficiency in English language had hindered the effectiveness of DLP implementation, therefore resulting to confusion among pupils towards their learning content.
SITI HUZAIMAH ABDULLAHZaimuariffudin Shukri Bin Nordin

http://jsass.kuis.edu.my/index.php/jsass/article/view/277

Technology-supported peer feedback has recently emerged as the subject of intense academic investigation in various contexts of teaching and learning, yet the use of peer feedback, particularly with the use of video annotation tool has not been fully explored. It is uncertain as to how learners react to the use of peer feedback in an online learning environment facilitated by annotation tool. Novel perspectives on this human-computer interaction are needed to ascertain how such peer feedback sessions can facilitate student learning. This study thus aims to explore ESL learners’ perceptions on the use of video-annotated peer feedback in developing their oral presentation. Thirty-six (36) Malaysian polytechnic students participated in three (3) rounds of video-annotated peer feedback session to improve their oral presentation skills. Qualitative data collected from students’ journal entries and focus group interviews were coded and analyzed thematically. Four main themes emerged from the analysis were: (1) facilitating students’ active engagement in problem-solving/ oral presentation improvement, (2) gaining a better understanding of one’s weaknesses in doing oral presentation, (3) promoting students’ independent learning and (4) creating a motivating learning environment. The findings of this study contribute to our understanding on the use of video-annotated peer feedback sessions in developing ESL learners’ speaking competence, thus further informing educational practices which aim to improve human-computer interaction in an online learning environment.
CATHERINE NGUOI CHUI LAMHadina Habil
