Abstract

Kesukaran dalam menghafal kosa kata bahasa Jepun merupakan masalah yang dihadapi oleh pelajar yang mempelajari bahasa Jepun sebagai bahasa asing di Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). Penggunaan lagu merupakan kaedah pengajaran yang dapat digunakan untuk mempermudah proses pembelajaran, khususnya dalam penguasaan kosa kata. Kajian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji penggunaan lagu dalam meningkatkan penguasaan kosa kata bahasa Jepun pelajar di Universiti Putra Malaysia. Kajian secara kuantitatif ini adalah untuk menganalisis kemahiran penguasaan kosa kata dan kesan penggunaan lagu terhadap kemahiran psikomotor serta afektif pelajar terhadap pembelajaran bahasa Jepun setelah menggunakan lagu ciptaan penyelidik dalam kuliah.Sampel kajian ini terdiri daripada 100 orang pelajar UPM yang mendaftar kursus bahasa Jepun 1 tahap asas. Data dikumpulkan melalui borang soal selidik dan pemerhatian. Data dianalisis dengan menggunakan analisis deskriptif (kekerapan dan peratusan). Dapatan kajian menunjukkan pembelajaran kosa kata bahasa Jepun dengan menggunakan lagu lebih aktif berbanding model pengajaran konvensional. Malahan sampel kajian bermotivasi, tenang dan tidak bosan dalam proses pembelajaran bahasa Jepun. Implikasi kajian ini memberi cadangan bahawa penggunaan lagu dapat meningkatkan penguasaan kosa kata sampel kajian dalam pembelajaran bahasa Jepun di UPM. 

 ABSTRACT
This research paper aimed to investigate whether the use of songs in the Japanese language classes has an influence on vocabulary acquisition among Malaysian Japanese language learners in Universiti Putra Malaysia. The study was conducted on 100 students learning the Japanese language at the beginner level as a foreign languages subject at Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). Data were collected through questionnaires and observations. The analytical descriptive result showed that the participants were motivated, calm and not bored in the Japanese language learning classroom. The implication of the study suggests that the use of the songs can enhance vocabulary acquisition among students learning Japanese language in UPM
